Bobby Lounge has played at the past three New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festivals and has been a critical hit each time.

Now, he’ll play “Jazz Fest” locally, as the Pike County Arts Council opens its new season membership drive with a party at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Fernwood Country Club.

Photo ops: Rimes takes on botanicals for latest exhibit

Pike County native Cecil Rimes has spent his adult life perfecting his photography.

Now the 54-year-old Progress resident has been recognized for his work by receiving a $4,000 visual arts fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Concert, release party set for Barisal Guns: Catchings brothers key members of Louisiana band

Barisal Guns, a Louisiana-based rock band with two members formerly of McComb, hopes to see success with the release of their debut album “No. 1.”

The five-member band will have a CD release party at The Parish House at the House of Blues in New Orleans on Saturday.
