Pioneers thrive at the plate, sweep PCS Friday in McComb

The Parklane Pioneers outscored Presbyterian Christian School 25-4 in a double header at Davis Bell Park Friday.

Parklane earned a 12-1 win in five innings in Game 1 and a 13-3 win in five innings in the finale.

Game 2

Parklane weathered a brief scare from PCS in the fourth on the way to the win.

McComb holds off S. Pike, clinches playoff berth

They only needed one win to clinch a playoff berth, but the McComb Tigers took both of Friday’s games against rival South Pike.

McComb squeaked out a 6-2 win in the opener before coming from behind to win the second game 18-8.

North Pike splits in tournament action

The North Pike Lady Jaguars went 1-1 Saturday afternoon at the Brandon tournament, losing 12-1 to Germantown before beating the host Brandon 8-3.

In the second game of the day, it didn’t take the Lady Jaguars (10-12) long to get on the board. Kaylea Wagner’s double to center field in the first inning put North Pike ahead 1-0.
