With visions of winning their first game of the 2017 season, the Franklin County Bulldogs held a 14-0 lead over the Lumberton Panthers before watching it disappear into thin air.

The Class 1A Panthers defeated the 3A Bulldogs 34-17 Friday night in Lumberton.

Turner’s 3 TDs propels Eagles over Bulldogs

The South Pike Eagles flew into Louie Mullins Memorial Stadium seeking to spoil the Franklin County Bulldogs home opener.

Mission accomplished.

Paced by three touchdowns and 245 yards passing from quarterback Dontavious Turner, the Eagles collected a stout 27-14 win over the Bulldogs in Meadville.

Bulldogs beat PG, now it’s do or die

Trailing 8-7 in the second half, Franklin County junior Keonte Bee knew the Franklin County Bulldogs needed a spark, and he provided it.

Helped by some solid blocking from his offensive line, Bee scored on a 27-yard run to put the Bulldogs ahead for good.

The Delta State junior running back and Franklin High career and single season rushing touchdown record holder, scored four touchdowns last week in a 61-31 victory over Mississippi College.
