Chris Robinson is having instant success in the Gulf South Conference.
The Delta State junior running back and Franklin High career and single season rushing touchdown record holder, scored four touchdowns last week in a 61-31 victory over Mississippi College.
For his accomplishments, Robinson was named GSC Offensive Player of the Week.
“It’s a good honor,” Robinson said. “I’m trying my best every game.”
Robinson, a 5-9, 193-pound speedster scored three touchdowns on the ground and one in the air.
His big game was highlighted by 140 yards rushing on 21 carries. He also added three receptions for 49 yards.
“All my touchdowns came in the first half,” Robinson said. “Our team was clicking.”
Robinson is in his first year at Delta State, after transferring from Gulf Coast Community College in May.
For the season, Robinson has scored 11 rushing touchdowns in five games. He currently leads the GSC conference in scoring and third nationally in Division II.
