LIBERTY — The Amite County school board last week agreed to seek bids for mineral leases on three tracts of 16th Section land after hearing a request to do so from an oil investor.
Ross B. Polk, who works for KEW Drilling of Dallas, Texas, originally requested the right to self-advertise the bids.
