The McComb motel tax moved through the next phase in its path to restoration Tuesday as the city board set a July 19 special election date.
Selectmen voted 4-2, with Melvin Joe Johnson and Tammy Witherspoon opposed.
Board attorney Wayne Dowdy said the U.S. Justice Department still has to sign off on the election.
