1 hurt after 2 shootings reported

A McComb man is recovering following a Friday night shooting, and police are looking for another man in a separate shooting in which someone shot into a house early Monday.
Curtis Floyd, 42, of McComb, was shot in the abdomen around 11 p.m. at 1019 Carson Lane.

City makes final 2021 budget amendments

On the eve of a new fiscal year, McComb officials voted to accept the city’s final budget amendments in a special called meeting Thursday.
The board also accepted the claims docket, which officials set aside and forgot to readdress during the regular Tuesday night board meeting.

Selectman tackles dump site

Feeling great after helping lead a cleanup in his ward last weekend, Selectman Shawn Williams’ spirit was quickly deflated when he took a ride around his neighborhood with his wife the next day and found bags upon bags of trash, old tires and storm debris dumped on the side of the road.

McComb city officials voted to reprimand a city employee after an extended executive session Tuesday night.
After an closed door meeting between the board that lasted about an 90 minutes, city officials announced they were reprimanding an unidentified official and voted to pull a job advertisement from city hall boards.
