Special meeting a no-go: Officials’ absence makes Thursday evening session moot

A special called meeting of McComb’s city board failed to occur Thursday when Mayor Zach Patterson and Mayor Pro Tem Melvin Joe Johnson were absent, leaving attending selectmen without a presiding officer to call the meeting to order.

Mayor appoints Miller: Interim city attorney post valid until next board meeting

Mayor Zach Patterson tabbed Angela Taylor Miller as interim city attorney Wednesday, announcing the move in a letter to selectmen.

The appointment, which is authorized until the next meeting of the McComb city board by Chapter 2, Sections 2-17 and 2-42 of the city charter, is effective immediately.

McComb Mayor Zach Patterson confirmed today that with a city board hearing on suspended city attorney Rachel Michel pending, attorney Angela Taylor Miller has accepted the position of interim city attorney.
