The South Pike Eagles had just enough offense to escape the spoiler-minded North Pike Jaguars on Friday night.

South Pike went into the game trying to secure the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, while North Pike just wanted to go out on a winning note. The Eagles did the former with their 16-13 win.

North Pike homecoming win keeps Jaguars alive

The North Pike Jaguars used a kickoff return, a fake punt and a set of on-field push-ups to preserve a 32-18 homecoming victory over visiting Wilkinson County.

The Jaguars (2-2, 2-6) still find themselves deep in the hunt for a possible playoff spot in District 7-3A.
