Four-legged fostering program a win for everyone

When Dean Kageler moved to Osyka in 2019, his new neighbor Lynn Williams invited him to a pet adoption fair at Pike Animal League Shelter, where she was a board member. Kageler didn’t adopt, but he later wound up fostering — bringing dogs home for several weeks at a time.

BUFFALO — You’d think Elliott Morris would have lost interest in chickens after his first three died.
Not this lad.
Elliott, now 11, got three Easter chicks when he was 8. Two ate ant poison and one was suffocated by gnats.
Undeterred, he bought six more.
