Around here, most folks don’t spend too much time worrying if it’s a blackberry or a dewberry. If it’s ripe, dark and free, somebody is liable to pick it and put it in a pie.
Still, if you spend enough time outside this time of year, you start to notice there are really two kinds.
Dewberries usually come first.
