Calling it a career

For the past 27 years, Jimmy Brown has made a career out of saving life and property. Now he’s trading in his firefighter’s helmet for a motorcycle helmet.

Brown said that when he was growing up, he knew he wanted to work in public service, maybe as a police officer.

Lawmen to step up patrol for holiday

The Mississippi Highway Patrol officers will be hard at work making sure the roads are safe as residents celebrate the nation’s independence this weekend.

Patrol spokesman Sgt. Rusty Boyd wants to make this holiday weekend fatality-free, and troopers plan to do so with help from additional funding.
