Burglaries reported to McComb police

McComb police are investigating a string of residential burglaries reported Wednesday.

One of the burglaries were reported near Parklane Academy, while the other two happened in the Edgewood Park area.

It’s unclear whether the crimes are related, Detective Josh brown said.

Szymanski shows Service Above Self

Ed Szymanski received the McComb Rotary Club’s highest honor Tuesday night — the Service Above Self Award.

“His service is so special, over such a remarkable lifetime that you will know his name soon after I begin,” rotarian Jim Hedges said right before presenting the award.

Chief deputy’s son killed in Tues. wreck

The son of the Chief Deputy of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department was killed in an ambulance accident while on the job Tuesday in Greene County.

Dennis Rushing, 31, son of Steve and Devon Rushing died along with another ambulance crew member while headed out to a call on Highway 63 around noon.
