S. Pike girls advance, boys eliminated

COLLINSVILLE — The South Pike girls advanced to Thursday’s second round of the 4A South State Tournament by defeating host West Lauderdale 51-47 on Tuesday night.

The South Pike-West Lauderdale girls game was originally scheduled for Monday, but switched to Tuesday since both the girls and boys played.

Parklane eliminated from state playoffs

HATTIESBURG — Both Parklane Pioneer squads were eliminated Tuesday from the MAIS AAA Division I Tournament by Jackson Academy at Presbyterian Christian Academy.

In the girls contest, JA thumped the Lady Pioneers 52-15.

Amite County clubs advance to South 2A

At Enterprise-Lincoln on Friday, the Bassfield Lady Yellowjackets captured the Region 7-2A championship defeating Amite County 76-61.

The Amite County boys defeated East Marion 50-32 to place third in the tournament.
