Salem loses to Mt. Olive; CA still perfect

MOUNT OLIVE — Even with a solid rushing attack of 238 yards from Salem’s Stevie Quinn, David Carr and Cameron Robinson, Mount Olive edged the Wildcats 21-15 in overtime Friday night.

Salem got off to a good start, scoring twice in the first quarter on runs of 19 yards by Carr, and a 59-yard run by Quinn to take a 15-0 lead.

Seeden, Granger lead Amite County to victory

LIBERTY — With Amite County and Puckett tied at 6-6 in the first quarter, the Trojans blew the game open before halftime on their way to a 44-14 victory over the Wolves.

The Trojans led 28-14 at halftime and 36-14 after three quarters.

B. Chitto wins region showdown against Stringer

BOGUE CHITTO — The District 4-1A showdown between No. 1 Bogue Chitto and No. 2 Stringer was everything fans expected.

It was a tale of two halves with Stringer in command the first half and Bogue Chitto getting in gear the second half. The homestanding Bobcats defeated Stringer 34-28. It was the Red Devils’ first loss of the season.
