Parklane boys top Starkville Academy 53-43; PA girls fall

Parklane Academy boys held off visiting Starkville Academy Friday night in AAA basketball action.

Parklane won 53-43 and improved to 17-5 overall, 7-3 in district.

Parklane led 13-6 at the end of the first quarter, 28-18 at halftime and 38-24 at the end of the third quarter.

McComb cagers earn sweep at Brookhaven

BROOKHAVEN — Friday’s boys game between regional rivals McComb and Brookhaven started out with both teams finding it hard to make the basket.

But the game soon heated up and went down to the wire. McComb slipped past the homestanding Panthers 57-50.
