City OKs rental property rules

Smoke-free hearing slated for Tuesday

The smoking allowed at two McComb bars creates an air quality that is above what is considered livable by the Environmental Protection Agency, according to an air quality study conducted for the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition.

Fallen tree sparks outage

Entergy officials called Thursday’s power outage in McComb a “worst-case situation.”

Entergy Customer Service Manager Jim Hedges said a tree fell on a pole containing switches at the substation in west McComb around 1:18 p.m., knocking out power to about 1,200 customers.
