JACKSON — The McComb Tigers capped a season of dominance with a convincing 68-48 victory over the Raymond Rangers in Saturday’s boys 4A state championship game.

It is the program’s first championship since 1962 and coach Hilton Harrell's first title in his 20 years at McComb.

The McComb Tigers capped off a 31-1 season with a 68-48 victory over Raymond High School in the boys 4A state championship game. It is the program's first championship since 1962 and coach Hilton Harrell's first title in his 20 years at McComb.

This is the big one

The McComb Tigers have finally arrived.

After a season as Mississippi’s undisputed No. 1 squad in Class 4A, the Tigers (31-1) have finally reached the state championship game. And they did so without a single 4A loss to their name. (Their lone defeat came at the hands of traditional 5A powerhouse Callaway in January).

Pioneers rally in extra innings
