The Pioneers rushed for 293 yards and four touchdowns, returned a punt for a touchdown and held Hillcrest to 48 yards of total offense.

Bidding farewell: McComb cruises past Lanier 3-0 on senior night

McComb senior captain Nicole Coleman fittingly scored McComb’s final point Thursday on Senior Night.

If anyone was to record that final point, Coleman was the perfect girl for the job.

She earned her spot as captain, and while McComb was never tested Thursday in a 3-0 win over Lanier, it was more sentimental than anything.

Winless South Pike hosts 4-1 Tylertown in district opener

The football programs at Tylertown and South Pike are on completely different levels through the first five games of the season.

Tylertown, the No. 5 team in Class 4A, is 4-1 and averages more than 400 yards per game. South Pike, on the other hand, is winless at 0-5 with a pedestrian 7.2 points scored per game.
