In the opening round of the MHSAA 3A playoffs, the South Pike boys team used a strong third quarter to pull away for a 79-62 win over Hazlehurst on Tuesday in Magnolia.
Following a back-and-forth first half of action, the top-seeded Eagles clung to a 34-31 lead coming out of halftime.
