Bombs away: South Pike cruises to win over Amite County in season finale

In its regular season finale, South Pike’s baseball team picked up a comfortable 12-0 win against Amite County on Tuesday in Magnolia.

The Eagles (3-7, 0-5) used some strong pitching and a handful of explosive offensive innings to cruise to a win over the Trojans.

Southwest's Liberty Gillihan signs to further softball career at Belhaven

Southwest shortstop Liberty Gillihan signed with Belhaven University to continue her softball career Tuesday.

The sophomore has played for the Lady Bears for two years and led the team in triples while batting .303 last season. She ranked second in doubles and recorded 17 RBIs as well.

Parklane falls to district rival Columbia in home finale

In its final home game of the regular season, Parklane’s baseball team fell to Columbia Academy by a score of 11-3 on Monday.

The Pioneers (13-13, 6-7) only held the district rival Cougars scoreless for two frames and were unable to consistently find answers at the plate during their Senior Night.
