Coach Jackson: Southwest's homegrown Athletic Director

Few people fit the description of ‘Athletic Director’ as well as Ken Jackson does.
The former Parklane Pioneer, Southwest Bear and longtime coach has been around sports throughout his life, and thus his current role as AD is right up his alley.

Diamond Jags: N. Pike softball springs upset, cruises past NW Rankin

North Pike’s softball team took to the diamond Friday and secured a dominant 13-7 upset win over visiting Northwest Rankin.
The Lady Jags used some efficient hitting and a strong pitching performance from sophomore Savanna Hanks to oust the 7A Lady Cougars, avenging an earlier 4-1 defeat.

Bear men roll past Meridian, secure first-round bye

The Southwest men’s basketball team went on the road to play the Meridian Community College Eagles on Thursday and came home with a 81-64 win in its final road game of the season.
With a top four spot in the upcoming MACCC playoffs on the line, the Bears needed to secure a win to lock up a first-round bye in the postseason.

Southwest baseball played Hinds and Co-Lin in a three-way series at home Wednesday, defeating the former 11-10 before ousting the latter 10-9.
In the first game of the day, the Bears took down Hinds 11-10 in a 9-inning contest.
