The Pike County Sheriff’s Department teamed up with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics in their Operation Statewide Street Sweep investigation.
The team made eight drug-related arrests in Pike and Walthall counties out of 152 arrests made in 28 counties statewide from Tuesday through Thursday.
Law officers arrested four people in Pike County and another four in Walthall County.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the local arrests.
“We have a good working relationship with MBN. Our deputies assisted them with whatever they needed and we appreciate whatever they can do to help us with our drug problem,” chief deputy Steve Rushing told the Clarion-Ledger.
Cases of prescription drugs sold illegally were top priority for the local MBN district and the sheriff’s department, with a majority of arrests relating to this practice.
Arrested were:
• Kelly Brister, 222 Morgan Road, Liberty, charged with one count of sale of oxycodone.
• Terrance Crossley, 1018 Hudson Road, Summit, one count sale of hydrocodone.
• Rosalie Williams, 2005 Highway 570, Summit, one count sale of clonazepam.
• Keri Dunaway, 4620 East Fork Road, Liberty, one count prescription fraud.
• Timothy Joel King, 459 Manning Crossing, Jayess, one count sale of hydrocodone.
• Alecia Quinn, 57 Griffin Road, Tylertown, one count sale of hydrocodone.
• Kendrick Quinn, 156 Don Holmes Road, Tylertown, two counts sale of marijuana.
• Brenda Owens, 1777 Flatwood Road, Jayess, two counts sale of hydrocodone.
