Voters in Lincoln, Walthall, Lawrence and Franklin counties have a smattering of county races to decide when they go to the polls on Tuesday. Among the contests on the ballot are those for supervisor, justice court seats and an election commissioner post.
Here’s a rundown of the races:
Lincoln County:
• Incumbent District 4 Supervisor Doug Moak, a Democrat, faces Independent challenger Earl H. Brown. Moak defeated challenger Eddie Brown in the Democratic runoff.
• Justice Court Judge Post 2 Democratic nominee Ann Reeves will face Republican Freddie Cannon. Reeves beat Carl Brown in the Democratic runoff to be on the Nov. 6 ballot to replace incumbent B.J., who did not seek re-election.
Franklin County:
• District 1 Justice Court Judge Incumbent Ray “Butch” Emfinger, a Democrat, was unopposed in the primary. He faces Republican Chuck Bolt on Tuesday for the judicial post.
Walthall County:
• Justice Court Judge District 2 incumbent Marion McKenzie, a Democrat, faces Republican candidate Mike M. Holmes.
• Incumbent District 4 Supervisor, Democrat Travis Alford faces Republican nominee Robert Bond.
Lawrence County:
• Incumbent District 2 Supervisor Billy Joe Boutwell, a democrat, faces Independent candidate Gloria Billiot.
• On the ballot for the special election for county election commissioner, District 3, are Robbie DeLaughter and Shirley Givens.
