Tortilla Soup celebrated its ninth year in McComb earlier this year and is still celebrating the accomplishment.
Co-owner Adan Diaz said he’s thankful for the support that the city of McComb and the surrounding area have shown to Tortilla Soup.
“We would like to thank the wonderful town and community for allowing us to share another wonderful year, and our families thank you as well,” he said.
He said he believes that Pike County deserves more credibility in business as a whole and he and his partner Saul Mendoza encourage more people to invest in Pike County.
“This wonderful state has so much to offer,” he said.
Diaz said they began in Florida and in 2005 decided to move because there was a lot of competition.
He said a family member had a business in Louisiana, and Diaz said he and Mendoza set their sights on the area.
“We saw the huge success that our family member experienced, also,” he said.
He said the move has been a good one.
“Thank God we’ve experienced the same success,” Diaz said.
He said their success hinges on the fact that they treat their customers like family.
“Eighty-five percent of our customers are loyal customers. We consider them friends and family,” he said.
Diaz said once people try Tortilla Soup, they keep coming back for the great food and drinks.
Tortilla Soup will be closed Christmas Day to celebrate the birth of Christ.
“It is our families’ faith and belief,” he said.
The restaurant will reopen on Dec. 26. Diaz said Tortilla Soup will have drink specials throughout December as well as a seafood fajita for $15.99 and a 16 oz. ribeye with two sides for $18.99.
“We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays,” he said.
