Brookhaven police arrested two people in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Cornelius D. Porter of McComb, whose body was found burned on a secluded Brookhaven road Oct. 30.
Karal Sham Lyons, 26, 401 Crooked Lane, Lot 4, Brookhaven, faces one charge of murder.
Mashonna Shanta Dunnigan, 35, 203 Short St., Brookhaven faces one charge of accessory to murder after the fact.
A third suspect was also named in connection with the murder, but an arrest has not yet been made.
Jerry Doss was named in a Brookhaven Municipal Court affidavit that stated the charge filed against Dunnigan.
The affidavit states that on Wednesday Dunnigan aided and assisted "Jerry Doss knowing that he had feloniously committed the act of murder with intent to enable him to avoid arrest after the commission of the said felony."
Brookhaven Chief of Police Bobby Bell would not comment on Doss' involvement. He did, however, confirm Lyons' and Dunnigan's connection to the case.
Lyons was booked into the Lincoln County jail Thursday. No bond had been set as of Friday afternoon.
Dunnigan was booked into the Lincoln County jail Tuesday. She was released Wednesday on a $20,000 bond, Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said.
