Teacher investigated after abuse claimed

Walthall County school officials are investigating claims of a special education teacher striking at least one student in class after a video purportedly taken during the encounter was released on social media.
Superintendent Dr. Bradley Brumfield confirmed the investigation Friday.

Parents charged in infant's death

The parents of an infant who died Friday have been charged with negligent homicide in connection with the death as well as violating a no-contact order with the child, Pike County sheriff’s officials said.
