Two former Southwest Mississippi residents died in a wreck in Prentiss on Saturday, officials said.
Suzette Pittman, 40, of Jackson and native of Gloster, and Laderek Anderson, 43, of Byram and native of Tylertown, were both pronounced dead on the scene of a wreck on the intersection of Highway 13 and Whitesand Road, Jefferson Davis County Coroner Dedra Johnson said Tuesday.
Pittman, driving a 2006 Pontiac G5, was traveling south bound on Highway 13, while a 2010 Silverado driven by an unnamed 17-year-old from Monticello was westbound on Whitesand Road.
The two collided at the intersection, Mississippi Highway Patrol officials said.
Johnson said Anderson, who was Pittman’s passenger, was given emergency treatment while on the scene, but first responders were unable to revive him.
The Prentiss Headlight reported that the driver of the Silverado and another unidentified passenger reportedly received no injuries.
