In other business, the board considered student handbooks and district policies.
Superintendent Dr. Jay Smith said the handbooks were largely the same as this year’s editions, but the grading scales for kindergarten to sixth grade and for seventh through 12th grades were made more consistent with each other.
Smith also presented a slate of policies on grading, retention and promotion and discipline that were updated to be consistent with the contents of the handbooks.
Other policies were presented for review after having been updated to reflect changes in state or federal law.
