Chief: The kids are not alright

School is out and kids are keeping Summit police busy, Police Chief Alex Miller told the town council on Wednesday.
In giving his monthly report to the council, Miller noted juveniles were charged with burglary and had guns taken away from them in town in June.

Man jailed following standoff last week

A Summit man was arrested early Friday after a lengthy standoff with law enforcement officers.
Jessie Miramontes of Roy Deere Road was booked into the Pike County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and disobeying a lawful order. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was listed as the arresting agency on the jail’s arrest docket.

Three sentenced in killing of cousin, 11
