- Two strips of police tape block a hallway on the first floor of the Hampton Inn and Suites in McComb after a shooting was reported in the building at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. On the floor behind the police tape, towels, a pillow and what looks like blood are visible. McComb police officers on the scene said they could not provide information.

Man arrested for ‘lewd recording’

A McComb man was arrested on three felony charges last week, including one for “secretly recording for lewd and lustful purposes.”
Billy J. Bueto, 62, Van Norman Curve Road, was arrested last Thursday. He posted bond of $50,000 the same day. The bond includes a no-contact order with the woman involved.

Sheriff: Fords fleeced with fake fobs

A rash of thefts of Ford F-150 pickup trucks using cloned fobs has been occurring in Pike County recently, sheriff’s officials said.
“Pike County has seen an increase in stolen vehicles in the last month. Ford F150s have been the target of choice lately.,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
