LIBERTY — A Bogue Chitto man was arrested Dec. 18 for allegedly stealing an Amite County work truck, according to sheriff’s investigator Danny Meaux.
Jerry Lynn Cupit, 75, 2489 Big Creek Drive SW, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing an Solid Waste Department work truck. He’s out of jail on $5,000 bond.
In other cases:
• Jeffrey White, 33, 850 W. Congress St., Brookhaven, was charged Dec. 19 with kidnapping and simple assault. He allegedly kidnapped a 3-year-old girl and assaulted her father when he tried to get her back. White is in jail on $25,000 bond.
• Slaten Jackson, 25, 5898 Fenn Road, Smithdale, was charged Dec. 25 with possession of meth. He remained in jail with no bond set.
• Keithen Reon Bateaste, 22, 718-A Morris Smith Ave., Centreville, was charged Dec,. 16 with possession of meth. He’s out of jail on $6,000 bond.
• Jermaine Green, no age available, 823 E. Walnut St., Gloster, was charged Dec. 22 with felonious fleeing a law enforcement officer in a motor vehicle. He allegedly fled Gloster after being involved in a hit-and-run and wrecked in a ditch behind the Amite County jail, where he was apprehended. He remained behind bars on $4,000 bond.
