I truly love and care about Pike County, where I raise my family. I have been actively working this area for 20 years of my career. I am afraid without a strong sheriff, everything that was started will not last.

Main Campaign Issues	Crime and sheriff deputies' salaries. These issues my not seem to go together, but they do. Law enforcement deputies are the only county employees that must complete a 10-wk academy to stay employed. They are constantly placed under the microscope, work long hours for low pay and deal with some of the worst in our communities. Sheriff's correctional officers work long hours and deal with inmates that test every ounce of their resolve. Employees of the sheriff's office are some of the highest trained officers in SW MS.; they are some of the lowest paid in the county, and have the most dangerous jobs. They deserve higher pay and if we do not find a way to pay them better, we will not be able to retain them. Thanks to the dedicated employees that have sacrificed and stayed thus far, violent crime has not been as bad as it could be. But we need to find a way to retain these hard-working employees so that Pike County can move forward and prosper.

I am the only candidate with over 20 years of experience working right here in Pike County. I am also a lawman to my core and in being so, I have made plenty of people mad at me for locking up their family members and protecting the innocent, instead of turning the blind eye. I do not look at social status, race, religion, or age because none of that matters if you are being guided by the law. I will continue to do what I have always done by sending criminals to jail, regardless of who they know or who they are. I will not play politics when it comes to upholding the law. I will lean on my faith as a Christian and my 25 years in law enforcement, to make the best judgment calls and to do what I know is right. Pike County will not benefit by electing an inexperienced sheriff that will have to spend the first years in office "learning the ropes". We must have a strong leader with real experience that is tough on crime and knows how to do the job from day one. As Sheriff of Pike County, I will maintain the integrity of the law, at all cost, and serve this county as God continues to call me to do.
