Two suspects have been charged in the Sunday shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in McComb, police said.
The suspects, both juveniles from Magnolia, were arrested mid-day Thursday and charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the shooting death of Ke’Jaylen Cook, McComb Police Chief Detective David Cullom said.
They are both expected to be arraigned Friday morning in Pike County Youth Court.
Cullom said one of the suspects was picked up at South Pike High School.
Cook was shot once in the chest around 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Chestnut Street and Avenue B in East McComb.
He was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
His death was the first homicide reported in McComb in 2026.
