SCHOOLS MUST WORK WITH WHAT COMMUNITIES SEND
While I agree that crime is a community and countywide problem, I believe Mayor Witherspoon was too harsh on school officials who were not at the recent forum. Has she forgotten that the schools get the students the communities send them? School officials do their best to teach them. Her first question should have been, “How many parents are here?”
A ‘STATE OF CONFUSION’
Joe Biden said that the rich will pay their fair share of taxes and he will impose a 15% tax on all corporations. This comes straight from the “State Of Confusion Address.” Maybe he will start with Nancy Pelosi’s husband. Corporations will always make a profit. Every corporation will simply raise prices in order to maintain profits.
PROVERBS 11:11
“Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart.” Every city has a mood, an attitude or a culture. A community filled with people who are invested, positive, constructive and dedicated to God’s ways will prosper, even when its citizens do not understand why. A community filled with leaders and citizens who are apathetic, petty, selfish, negative, destructive and amoral will never have a shortage of problems.
IN SUPPORT OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA
Pike County supervisors and the city boards might need to look at the revenue of having medical marijuana businesses. Do they really want to lose out on the money? 75.4% of voters voted for Initiative 65 and 24.6% voted for 65A in Pike County. The people here want this. The “black market” for it will be no worse than the one for opioids that is here now.
