Severe weather will sweep through the area tonight and Wednesday, bringing a cold front behind it, in what could be a potential repeat of recent late-night storms that spun off tornadoes.
National Weather Service forecasters said the system will bring the risk of severe weather, with the possibility of 1 to 3 inches of rain that could produce flash flooding, along with damaging winds and tornadoes.
The worst of the weather is expected to hit around midnight Wednesday and continue through the morning.
Forecasters said the greatest threat “is north and west of a roughly McComb-to-Baton Rouge line,” with the brunt of the weather expected to move out of the area sometime Wednesday.
