McComb School District superintendent Dr. Cederick Ellis was scheduled to begin a suspension Monday that may stem from a failure to tell the school board about football team misbehavior.
The school board held a special meeting with Ellis last Monday, Aug. 14 in executive session. But he reportedly worked all of last week. Trustees have scheduled another special board meeting at 5:15 p.m. this Monday, Aug. 21, though it is not clear whether Ellis will be a topic of discussion at this meeting.
The football incident reportedly occurred at a camp the team attended in June in Florida. Details could not be confirmed, including whether the school district paid for the trip, which district employees were there, how many members of the football team were there or what exactly happened during the trip.
