The victim of a shooting in McComb on Saturday has died, police said.
Timothy Diggs, 26, was shot around 11:45 a.m. on South Broadway near the intersection of Fifth Avenue, McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy said.
Javonte Wells, 22, surrendered to police in connection with his alleged involvement in the shooting and faces charges, Cloy said.
Diggs taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center after the shooting and died there.
Police described the incident as a shootout. Cloy said the two men were involved in an argument that escalated into gunfire.
Police found shell casings and other evidence in a parking lot near a gray Chrysler sedan that was towed away.
