A Richton man died Thursday night after being struck by a car on Highway 98 East outside McComb, the Mississippi Highway Patrol reported.
Geary Davis, 32, died at the scene of the wreck around 9:40 p.m., MHP spokesman Cpl. Craig James said.
Gabriel Young, 23, of McComb, was westbound when he allegedly struck Davis near the Dollar General Store between Weaver and Van Norman Curve Roads.
Pike County Sheriff Wally Jones said the driver didn’t stop, but Young turned himself in at the sheriff’s department around 2 a.m. Friday.
No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
James said the accident remains under investigation.
