A Jayess man died Monday evening in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 570 east of Summit.
Henson “Joe” Childers, 66, of Jayess, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred just east of the intersection with River Road North, Pike County Coroner David Rashad Taylor said.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Craig James said troopers responded to the scene at 5:27 p.m.
Henson was eastbound in a 2013 Cadillac SRX when it collided with a westbound 2000 Ford Expedition driven by 62-year-old Theron Morgan of Jayess.
