At least one person was seriously hurt in an accident on Highway 24 west of McComb on Wednesday morning.
A black Nissan Sentra was heavily damaged in an apparent head-on collision with a Sanderson Farms feed truck.
Its driver was removed from the car with the Jaws of Life and rushed to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Officials working the scene said the truck driver and witnesses told them the car apparently veered into the truck’s lane.
The collision led to significant damage on the front left side of both vehicles, sending the Nissan down an embankment on the north side of the road and the semi off the south side of the road.
A tow service employee said the semi was unloaded.
The accident led to traffic delays as officials worked the scene.
Other details about the accident weren’t immediately available from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
