Two people were charged Friday in connection with a hit-and-run death that recently killed a McComb man.
Terry Fitzgerald Jackson, 43, of McComb, was being held with no bond Friday after he was charged with tampering with physical evidence and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Harry James Botley, 41, also of McComb, was charged with tampering with physical evidence. He remained in jail Friday afternoon with bond set at $5,000.
Jackson is suspected of striking Ota Lampton, 49, who was walking along Old Highway 24 between Oakdale Road and McKenzie Road last week.
Pike County Chief Deputy Brad Bellipanni said debris found at the scene led investigators on a search for a Ford pickup truck built between 1997 and 2003, and they were able to narrow the search further, leading to Friday’s arrests.
