A 15-year-old has been charged in the fatal shooting that killed one person and grazed another teenager nearly two weeks ago in McComb.
Jaylen Patterson has been charged with murder in the Jan. 13 death of Joshua Bullock, 18.
He’s being held on $1 million bond following his arrest Thursday.
Bullock was shot multiple times on the corner of Beech and Sedgewick streets, a block away from the McComb police station.
He was pronounced dead at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Police said a 15-year-old was grazed in the shooting but did not require medical treatment.
That shooting was the second to occur in the city that weekend and the second fatal shooting of the year.
The first fatal shooting of the year occurred just around the corner on Earl Street, where Cody Gallagher, 20, was shot multiple times at his residence on Jan. 3. Police Chief Juan Cloy said three Black male suspects remain at large in the case.
