A teenager was wounded in a shooting in East McComb on Sunday afternoon, a day after another shooting left one person dead.
Police Chief JuanCloy said the 16-year-old victim was shot on Avenue D around 3:30.
He went by private vehicle to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was in serious condition
Police placed evidence markers along Avenue D between South Magnoia and South Cherry streets, where dozens of shell casings were found.
Two large clusters of casings were located along the road, indicating a gunfight between at least two shooters. A car window was shot out during the melee.
The gunfire follows another shooting near the police station that occurred Saturday night, killing 18-year-old Joshua Bullock and grazing an unidentified 15-year-old.
Police had made no arrests in that shooting as of Sunday.
