A Pike County man pleaded guilty to manslaughter Tuesday morning to the slayings of two people at a trailer park in 2020.
Tucker Morris, who was 16 at the time of the May 30, 2020, slayings, entered the plea in Pike County Circuit Court Tuesday morning just before he was scheduled to stand trial.
Judge David Strong sentenced him to 20 years in prison, six suspended.
Morris was indicted on first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges in the shooting deaths of Laquasha Martin, 40, and Charles Martin, 32, and both individuals died.
The killings took place at a trailer park at 3006 Old Liberty Road.
Police arriving at the scene of the shootings saw a witness flag them down and direct them to two lots.
Officers found Charles Martin’s body in the living room of Laquasha Martin’s house and Laquasha Martin’s body on the porch next door.
Police arrested Morris hours later at his home at another lot on the property.
Attorney Michael Zachary Jex represented Morris, and attorneys Robert Byrd and Rodney Tidwell prosecuted the case.
