An Amite County man has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of his son Friday night, said Sheriff Tim Wroten.
Julius Henry III, age unavailable, of South Greensburg Road, was arrested following the 9 p.m. shooting of his adult son, Julius IV, at their residence.
The son was shot once with a .357 magnum handgun.
The father claimed self-defense but authorities determined he should be charged with murder.
The investigation was underway Saturday and more details were not immediately available.
