Two people who sped away from the scene of a Tuesday morning apartment shooting in McComb — one of them wounded by gunfire — have been accused of shooting two others in the melee.
D’Angelo Givens of Baton Rouge and Charles Willis Thompson of Columbia were charged Tuesday with aggravated assault and shooting into a dwelling. Police announced the arrests Friday.
Both were in the Pike County Jail on Friday on $300,000 bond.
McComb police went to Southgate Apartments at 9:53 a.m., where they found two people with gunshot wounds. The victims went to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, with one taken by private vehicle and another driven by police.
Their injuries were not considered to be life threatening, police said.
Police saw Givens and Thompson driving a vehicle matching the description of the one that left the scene of the shooting and pulled them over.
Officers said one of the men had suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital. Officials did not identify whether it was Givens or Thompson.
Police said more charges are possible.
