Two people were wounded in a shooting in McComb's Algiers neighborhood Thursday night, and police have no suspects.
Police Chief Juan Cloy said the victims, Malik Harvey, 27, and Domonique McBride, 28, were shot multiple times near the intersection of 14th Street and Nelson Avenue around 8:20 p.m. when a barrage of gunfire erupted outside Southgate Apartments.
Cloy said one of the victims was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and was in critical condition, while the other was treated at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and released. He did not specify which one was more severely wounded.
Detective Scote Renfroe said property damage was reported, including to some units at the apartment complex that were hit by gunfire.
Cloy said police recovered numerous shell casings at the scene.
The gunmen and the victims appeared to be on foot and the shooting was not a drive-by, Renfroe said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call McComb police at (601) 684-3213, by texting an anonymous tip to 847411 or through the McComb MS PD smartphone app.
