State officials are investigating a shooting that occurred near the Pike-Walthall County line on Sunday evening.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Leatherwood Road.
Two people were reportedly injured and one was airlifted from the scene.
Pike County Chief Deputy Brad Bellipanni said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations is working the case, and deputies assisted MBI investigators and state troopers at the scene.
Identities of the wounded and their conditions is not known, and it was unclear if any suspects or motive had been established.
An official with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety could not immediately be be reached Monday morning.
