A former employee of a company that stocks vending machines is one of two people facing charges in connection with the burglary of the business after deputies allegedly found him in possession of burglary tools — and a lot of coins.
Deputies got a break in the Brian’s Vendiworks burglary case Saturday when they stopped Devonta Martin, 24, of McComb, because the Chevrolet Impala he was driving had a bag covering the license plate.
During the traffic stop, deputies allegedly found drugs and a weapon. They booked him with possession of a controlled substance enhanced by possession of a firearm, as well as traffic violations. Sheriff’s officials said deputies also found two backpacks inside the car containing “a large amount of rolled coins and tools that could be used in a burglary.”
Investigators interviewed Martin, who admitted to breaking into the business with Joshua Felder, 21, of McComb, who used to work for the company. They were both booked for burglary and conspiracy. Martin’s bond was set at $30,000 and Felder's was set at $50,000.
